So called buffer zone is against the cease-fire agreement concluded by Tbilisi and Moscow.
Alexander Stubb, the Foreign Minister of Finland, the OSCE Chairman-in
Office stated the following.
‘Such buffer zones were implemented after the negotiations conducted in 1999 and 1994 y and it is totally against the truce brokered by France.’ –Alexander Stubb stated.
As new agency Reuter reports, Alexander Stubb considers that such zone won’t be put in practice and declares that the issue will be discussed in the next days.

Georgian troops have been withdrawn from the conflict zone and Georgia has declared unilateral cease-fire, despite Russian Federation attacks the whole territory of Georgia.
International community should take extreme measures to stop Russia.

Saakashvili Met with Foreign Ministers of Finland and France

Mikheil Saakashvili, the President of Georgia met with the Foreign Ministers of France and Finland – Bernard Kushner and Alexander Stubb. The president of Georgia stated once again that Russia commits military aggression against Georgia and Georgia is forced to defense.
‘We do not want a war with Russia. But Russian tanks are moving towards our capital city and fighter jets are bombing our country. Fire should be ceased immediately. ‘-declared Mikheil Saakashvili.

The foreign Minister of France – Bernard Kushner declared that France and ESCO are ready to get involved in resolution of the conflict actively.
The foreign minister of Finland and the OSCE Chairman-in-Office – Alexander Stubb confirmed the readiness of ESCO and EU to participate in resolution process as well.
