France foreign minister Bernard Kushner arrived in Georgia yesterday evening. His visit aims at observing fulfillment of Russian commitments.
Bernard Kushner has already set out for Gori today morning and will observe situation in South Ossetian zone with EU observation mission car.
Kushner will return to Tbilisi after this and hold meetings. French minister will go to Batumi at about 16:00 where meeting between him and Georgian president will be held.
After meeting with the president, joint announcement will probably be made. Bernard Kushner will return to his homeland from Batumi.

Nicolas Sarkozy - EU Backs Territorial Integrity and Sovereignty of Georgia
The EU backs the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Georgia. The EU chairman Nicolas Sarkozy stated the following in the briefing held in the Presidential Residence in Avlabari.
As the President of France remarked in Moscow he together with the high representatives of the EU – Xavier Solana, Jose Manuel Baroso and Bernard Kushner, condemned the recognizing of the independence of south Ossetia and Abkhazia by the Russian Federation.
‘It is nobody’s matter to review the borders established by the UN.’ –Nicolas Sarkozy highlighted.

As the president of France underlined it is not an excellent result but added that there is a ‘light’ in this regard and expressed hope that the result would be soon gained.

Earlier today the capital city of Georgia has been bombed. Shells hit Makhata Mountain and Kojori brigade base. Russia attacks Georgia in spite of the fact that the foreign minister of Finland - Alexander Stubb and the foreign minister of France – Bernard Kushner are on official visit in Tbilisi.
Georgian troops have been withdrawn from the conflict zone and Georgia has declared unilateral cease-fire, despite Russian Federation attacks the whole territory of Georgia.
International community should take extreme measures to stop Russia.
Saakashvili Met with Foreign Ministers of Finland and France
Mikheil Saakashvili, the President of Georgia met with the Foreign Ministers of France and Finland – Bernard Kushner and Alexander Stubb. The president of Georgia stated once again that Russia commits military aggression against Georgia and Georgia is forced to defense.
‘We do not want a war with Russia. But Russian tanks are moving towards our capital city and fighter jets are bombing our country. Fire should be ceased immediately. ‘-declared Mikheil Saakashvili.
The President of Georgia evaluated Russia’ aggression against Georgia as the greatest surrealistic crisis ever.
The foreign Minister of France – Bernard Kushner declared that France and ESCO are ready to get involved in resolution of the conflict actively.
The foreign minister of Finland and the OSCE Chairman-in-Office – Alexander Stubb confirmed the readiness of ESCO and EU to participate in resolution process as well.
