France to shorten the period for getting visas for Georgian citizens

France will shorten the period for obtaining visas for Georgian citizens.

According to France 24, the abovementioned statement was made by French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius.

Fabius said that the term for getting visa will be decreased for five countries, including Georgia, Armenia, Turkey, Vietnam and Indonesia.

In particular, the citizens of these countries will be able to get tourist visas within 48 hours. The decision was made due to the development of tourism in the country.

It is not clear when the decision will enter into force.

Economic Forum to be Opened in Istanbul Today

Economic forum will be opened today in Istanbul. Searching for ways to overcome financial crisis of the world will be main theme of the forum.
‘Vesti’ informs that European and central Asian states representatives will take part in the forum that will last till 1 November.
Regional and World energetic security issues will be stressed on the forum. Participants of the measure will mainly speak about role of Turkey in this field.

Round table will be held regarding free trade agreement between Georgia and Turkey today.
As NewsGeorgia was informed by the ministry of economics developments, Turkey delegation and Georgian business, exporter companies representative will attend the meeting.
Participants of the measure will discuss the issue of simplifying free trade regime between Turkey and Georgia.

Main Hearths of Fire Localized in Borjomi-Kharagauli Forest Reserve

Main hearths of fire have been already localized in Borjomi-Kharagauli wood, though several hearths of fire still are broken in distance places. Dying of the fire takes place by mechanical means.
Minister of Environment Protection and Natural Resources Irakli Ghvaladze stated radio ‘Palitra’ that they are waiting for special aircrafts from Turkey.
According to him, liquidation of the fire, presumably, will take place on August 22. According to the Minister, fire has negative influence over micro-climate of the forest reserve.
According to the existing information, about 300-hecter territory has been already burnt.

Shells Hit Sharabidzeebi, Makhvilauri and Borough Khelvachauri

2 Russian fighter jets dropped shells on Khelvachauri region an hour ago, namely on the villages - Sharabidzeebi , Makhvilauri and borough Khelvachauri.
According to the released information, shells exploded near the dwelling in the village of Makhvilauri. The village is 14 m away from the border of Turkey.
Several busses and a house have been damaged due to blasts in borough Khelvachauri. No wounded have been reported.
